My favorite Swedish models are Caroline Winberg, Mini Aden, and Frida Gustavsson. Frida's my favorite of the three, and is truly unique. I think Mini has been doing movies nowadays.

Elsa has a beautiful doll-face but I find her too short to be a really good runway model. :-p

Maybe I've read too much science fiction, but when ever someone says someone is the average somewhere (in something other than measured qualities), I always imagine them being selected by a machine or something . Either way, if that's what it chosel, Caroline Winberg a lot of their models must be below average there then . All speculations aside, I do like some of their models though. As a side note, the merit of blonde hair and blue eyes is definitely a case by case basis for me .

I'd rather have a short runway model with confidence, a unique style and charisma than someone who's tall with nothing distinctive. That's just in general though as I'm not particularly familiar with her on the runway. I'm still not sure how I feel about Elsa in general though . That picture with the hat was the only picture of hers I've liked so far . I liked Mini when she was on Chuck. There's actually a long list of actresses who's main appeal is their looks who she's better than.

Countries Who's Elite (in Looks) are Hotter Than Their Fashion Models to Me

Some consider fashion models to be the best looking in the world and it does have a lot of beautiful women. Fashion is also more diverse than its generally given credit for and even despite having stricter height and size requirements, has surpassed even the film industry in terms of diversity.

That said, things such as agency accessability and other things still leave some countries better represented than others. For example, even though some go throught great legnths to and succeed at getting their children discovered at a young age, the average person who lives close to an agency is probably more likely to be seen by a scout or even persue modeling than someone who lives nowhere around one. For example, someone living in New York, California or Miami is probably more likely to persue modeling or get discovered than their long lost twin living in the back woods somewhere.

With Africans, Europeans and Americans being generally the tallest, some are also weeded out throught the height requirements although in the case of China, there are so many Chinese people that there are tons of tall ones despite their average height being shorter. That said, the best looking women in these places that I've seen surpass their working counterparts in the fashion industry looks wise. Before I start those, I'll add that Hawaii and the Carribean have some good representation although the locations have more they can work with on the quantity end of things. I'd probably throw America in there too, but it has so many people obviously.

Ethiopian - there are some lovely Ethiopian models, but most of the ones I've met are both prettier, more exotic and have more curves on top of that. A couple in particular were as good looking to me as any woman I've seen in general and most of them were at least commercial height.

Indonesia

Kenya

Puerto Rico

Norway

Malaysia

Phillippines

Angola

Mexico

Cuba

Dominican Republic

Nigeria

Colombia

Of course, there's some others I'd say the same for that have almost none due to small population combined with being too far from agencies and such. Anyone can feel free to share theirs .

What do you mean by "Elite", Joe?

I just figured I had to put that in there to be confused with saying their 'average' woman looks better than their models . By 'elite' in looks, I meant that to me, the best looking women I've seen from those groups without even having been all those places look better than their fashion models. Of course in the case of Cuba and Puerto Rico, when you weed out the short ones and then the ones with more curves than most agencies are looking for, the list of candidates naturally thins out. On the other hand, the average woman living in the Dinaric Alps is 5'7 and 5'6 in the Netherlands case, so even if the most beautiful woman there is 5'4 and doesn't make it, there's still a lower percentage of prospects weeded out because there's a higher percentage who are 5'9-5'11. With Indonesia on the other hand, the average woman is 4'11, so a higher percentage of their top tier beauties don't make it as a result. Obviously China doesn't have that problem because there's over a billion people there and likely more tall Chinese women than there are women as a whole in many places. Their only obstacle is that they prefer European models on their magazine covers, but they still have tons of models. I have to also throw it out there that I'm not necessarily saying I'd change the runway height requirement from the current mostly tall, occassional short system. I do however find think 5'6-5'8 to be sufficiently tall for commercial modeling though. On the other side of the spectrum, being above the height requirement can have its own issue. The best looking Estonian women I've seen were above model height. A lot of models listed as 5'11 are actually 6'0-6'1 if not taller and as a result, its better to be 5'8 (often listed as 5'9) than 6'2 or taller as a result.

Come to think of it, Elsa is actually not short for a model. She has an hourglass figure which makes her look a little shorter than she is!

I saw Mini in 'The Mechanic' 2011. She's in the film for about ten minutes and she's very sexy indeed.

I know I'm late, but am having a little more succes with the videos, so the parenting thing was funny .

I had just taken your word for it on the height thing with the assumption that she had the short torso with short legs thing Ale had going on . I was actually surprised to find out that Mini was Swedish, not only because I thought she was American, but she has more of an in you face type of sensuality whereas most Swedish models and actresses I know just hope the looks will take care of it.

I'm working on getting the early 1900s added back to the birthdays. A year of my life was mysteriously taken away :| .

Oh yeah, I'll have to say again that the admins have been saying no more subforums for years I don't think its even open for debate . Those subforums were simply carried over from the site BZ started from, but is not a BZ practice. I'd suggest simply labeling your posts so they'll be easier to put into the search.

Yea, I thought elsa was 5' 8'' ish but she's more like 5' 10' ish. Did you mean long torso? Ale has a long torso and shorter than average legs. Her torso was a sizable factor in her overall appeal :-D

You're absolutely right about Mini.

^Have to say I'd always been indifferent to her, and her recent "revival" and prominence within PINK actually put me off of her if anything (there's sweet, and then there's tooth-decay :yuckky: ).

But the Guy Aroch shots of her that I've seen (from his just ended exhibition 'Elsa') are far more interesting - and capture what's so endearing about Swedish girls in general (that puckish quality, physical fitness, and comfort in nudity!). My interest is piqued again. She's got a way to go - which I'm sure is of great import to her - but it's a start.

Here's a wonderful example. Naturally there's nudity:

I'm catching up with the other videos, thanks guys .

I should have added that I had previously only seen her from the hips up . As a result of that, I figured since she had the torso or a 5'9 or taller woman then she would have to have short legs to be shorter than prototype runway height. Of course, that turned out not to be the case since she's 5'10 with proportional legs.

I figured you'd be on the indifferent side and I was too until that pic with her as an example of the 'average' Swedish woman increased my curiosity. That's definitely true about Pink too . I guess its a fine line. Some can do it and it seems natural whereas its not as well suited for others. Maybe some who aren't as youthful looking try to compensate with goofier smiles? Either way, I have mixed feelings when models I like get involved because I'm afraid they'll forget how to model in the process . As to the photoshoot, being on the roof is definitely comfortable . Also, as to a previous discussion about cheese in America, have you by any chance had water buffalo cheese? It not only makes more per gallon than cows but is really good stuff indeed .

Nope. Disagree. Guy Aroch is not a good photographer and this bullcrap shoot with Elsa proves that he can't be creative even with someone as beautiful as her. The only thing he captured with these BS photos of Elsa was some low-budget spank material.

But who am I to talk, right? I don't know jack-shit!

^You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment... mischievous_smilie.gif

Where've you been anyway? And why did this post spur you back into action?

Actually, as I said, Elsa hadn't really interested me at all before seeing these shots. At least I hadn't considered her particularly "beautiful" beforehand. That's not to say there's any great artistic merit in them - just that maybe he put across to me something in her that I hadn't noticed before. Anyway, Guy Aroch is my go-to guy for "low-budget spank material"!

I'm somewhat indifferent about Elsa even though she's a real-life Angel. Elsa has a beautiful facial profile, and hers is up there with Frejas. However, physically she's good but not the type of imposing body that I like. Her poses, her smile, and her runway photos are so-so to me. :-p

Guy Aroch's photoshoot is interesting. I like it, and it's a bit awkward to see her photos being touted as 'Art' and displayed in a gallery and everything. I mean, he even included a picture of Elsa sucking on a banana!
