It probably boils down to timing. The members I generally interract with at least those that interract back likely just happened to not be there at the same time I was on for a stretch, whereas staff work it always there
. Hope all is good with you though
.
I think yes, I´m really looking forward to holiday and days off from work ![]()
And I love Belle too, Joe
especially her passion for reading and brave, clear heart ![]()

Me too and glad you like her
. Did you have a list
? I also made a very slight edit there.

The list is another cracker, Joe! ![]()
I guess Jasmine is really only a supporting character in her movie, but she was the first non-white princess (I think) and the first to not be hopelessly dreaming of marrying a prince. Belle dreams of adventure, disregards the superficial, loves reading and also refuses to play the 'little wife' to the local hero. Both decent role models. It's just the fact that Jasmine has a pet tiger that would lift her into first place for me. ![]()
I'd also like to nominate Tiana from 'Princess and the Frog', if I may. She's a vibrant and passionate character, and she has a specific non-romantic ambition (to own her own restaurant) throughout the movie, which I don't recall seeing from a female Disney character before. Plus, she does more than just believe in her dream, she actually works for it and earns it. That's pretty cool. ![]()
Yeah, they can really cheapen it with capitalism and commercialism. Maybe Charlie Brown was prophetic
because surely he had no idea what the future held
. I'm also ready to accept it now though
.
Charlie Brown is pretty much the ultimate existentialist.
But me too, I finally have my Christmas tree up and I'm planning to watch 'Elf' in the near future. ![]()

Tourists Pose In Front Of Volcanic Eruption
Russia . . .

Glad you like it and great points
. My morale is definitely in full swing too and Elf is definitely a winner
. Its funny you mention it because I was thinking about the fact that I meant to put her on there for the same reasons. Well, that and the fact that she was equally charming as a frog
. I think I confused myself with the ties because ties aren't really my thing
. The top two was tough as I actually do technically find Jasmine to be a better character at face value. None of it is set in stone quite yet though.
LOL @ the tourists and the gifs ![]()

Merry Christmas Joeeeeeeeee :Dinah:

I definitely knew who your number one was

Our entertainment industry and culture continues to change at a rapid pace and with there being so many outlets and so much information coming through at all times, its easy to lose sight of some things that really weren't all that long ago.
Things you may have forgotten
Christina Milian is a singer
Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry and Reese Whitherspoon all have oscars
Family comedies used to be for the whole family
Jessica Alba was one of the first in demand actresses of this century
Megan Fox had a career
Justin Timberlake used to have curls
People used to be terrified of AIDS
Despite the English teacher look he currently sports, Eric Clapton was cool in the 60s and 70s
Bill Cosby used to the loveable middle aged man before he became the grumpy old man whose mission is to expound on how much black entertainment sucks now.
Many women that dissed big lips in the 90s have botox now
Tatoo sleeves used to be cool
Dave Chappelle turned down a big money contract and ran away to Africa
You once had to be smart to use computers
As recently as the mid 90s, big butts were still frowned upon in the mass media
You once had to be able to play an instrument to be in a rock band
Ben Afflack has a co oscar win for best screenplay
Punk was once a lifestyle rather than a look
Micha Barton was once more popular than Olivia Wilde
Not long ago, a three man band of three short brothers playing and singing terribly took over the world.
In the late 90s, Ellen's first show was cancelled because she came out of the closet. Now, your show would be cancelled if you used a gay slur.
VH1, BET and MTV used to be about music
There was a little black boy who could sing and dance extremely well who turned into a Mexican man and then into a white woman and then into a white man.
Male action stars used to be required to have one of the following qualities, be a martial artist, have a manly face, have a cool voice, be considered cool or
respectable by other men.

Haha Joe I love your lists! I need to comment on this one a bit. But I'll edit it a lil bit instead of putting each sentence in a 'quote' thing, ok? ![]()

Thanks for organizing them
. a) Don't forget the Kim Possible theme song ![]()
. As to h) he is still cool technically, he just looks like a high school teacher with the glasses and buttoned up shirts
. As to k) they are definitely becoming more popular with women. There's definitely more women than ever who have them here. The women who have them still seem to be cool the majority of the time though whereas now there are both cool and lame men who have them. With p) I don't think its a coincidence that when they were supposed to get married, he makes his debut at the strip club and to my knowledge hasn't visited one since. I think he just wanted out of the whole thing
because as you said, they were mismatched. She seems to be more vanity oriented whereas he seems much more well suited to his current relationship. LOL @ f) I had actually forgotten about that one ![]()

Haha, that was a good list, and all valid.
I remember these:
Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry and Reese Whitherspoon all have oscars Then they went on to act in mediocre or terrible films..
Jessica Alba was one of the first in demand actresses of this century Then customers realized that she is a terrible actress.
Megan Fox had a career Then she lost her transformers role, and did the Jonah Hex flop.
Justin Timberlake used to have curls It made him look more feminine just for the boy-band crowd.
People used to be terrified of AIDS More terrified of AIDS than Cancer, thanks to special interest groups.
Bill Cosby used to the loveable middle aged man before he became the grumpy old man whose mission is to expound on how much black entertainment sucks now. Now he draws attention to himself by critcizing blacks, like Dr. Tom Sowell.
Dave Chappelle turned down a big money contract and ran away to Africa And effectively disappeared from comedy entertainment forever..
You once had to be smart to use computers And middle class or rich.
Ben Afflack has a co oscar win for best screenplay And his best friend was Matt Damon
Micha Barton was once more popular than Olivia Wilde Talking about Micha Barton's Cellulite was once popular, yes.
In the late 90s, Ellen's first show was cancelled because she came out of the closet. Now, your show would be cancelled if you used a gay slur. haha!
VH1, BET and MTV used to be about music I'd say until the mid-late 90s?
There was a little black boy who could sing and dance extremely well who turned into a Mexican man and then into a white woman and then into a white man. Then he slept with children and died.
Male action stars used to be required to have one of the following qualities, be a martial artist, have a manly face, have a cool voice, be considered cool or
respectable by other men. Now they can be anyone who is 'en vogue', and they don't have to have any muscles, either.

And now you're doubly sure to not forget

Model Attractions I Can't Explain
Lara Stone - I'm not even on the bandwagon of the 'new face of beauty' thing and don't even find her to be technically pretty at all. I even wonder sometimes if most of her fans even appreciate that type of face in everyday life. Either way, I still like her face anyway. Some would say then that it must be her body or that she's naked all the time. Well, I do think she does have one of the better ones in fashion, but Brooklyn Decker has roughly the same body and I'm not attracted to her at all. Of course, she doesn't get naked in her work, but I've never needed nudity to appreciate a body anyway. I even kindof like her gravelly voice. All in all, not sure what it is. Maybe she reminds me of a cavewoman or something.
Hilary Rhoda - a lot of people think she's beautiful and a great model. I think she is (particularly in the high fashion days) a great model. That's not to say I think she's ugly either. She just doesn't have any particular feature I'm that much into. All in all, not sure what the deal is there.
Agnieszka Wichniewicz - Unlike the others, I'm actually one of the primary contributors to her thread
. Also unlike the others though, I'm not sure whether its physical attraction or not. I definitely love her as a model and she does have some kindof magnetism to me, though I'm not sure what it is. She just has a certain aristocratic grace or something that reminds me of a painting maybe
.

Not to hate on Gabby Douglas and Aly but why did they go to the Golden Globes? Doesn't make sense to me.
Anyway, I am SO happy Adele won. I mean, I knew she would but seeing Taylor Swift's reaction
where was her 'surprise' face this time? Oh, sorry.... forgot it doesn't apply when she's loosing ![]()

I find award shows to be pretty boring myself
, but it was good to hear she won anyway. As to why the others were there, they work so hard for a sport where late teens is 'old' so I can't begrudge it to them. I guess they like to invite a variety of stars to these things even if they have no relevance to the subject at hand
.
