I used to joke back when I didn't think Adriana or Petra could lose a poll that they'd win "best redhead" and now not only did someone include them in the poll, they're actually in 2nd and 3rd place. Adriana has 4 votes and Petra has 3 votes
.
That poll is equal parts funny and stupid. I find it hard to believe it was actually created in earnest <_<
^Without wishing to regress - it does seem an apposite time to mention the legendary Jackalope, and it's magical healing milk:(I searched in vain for one of these in my 18 months in Albuquerque. Alas, aside from one's head mounted on a wall, I never saw one...

It is said only one lives in one wood, and the wood never dies and the animals in it are some kind of magical too, because the unicorn protects them. Are they magical animals, or regular animals with magical powers?
Regular animals that somehow posses some pieces of the unicorn´s magic

I remember reading how - pre WWII - when Churchill was the British 'Home' Secretary, he considered a scheme to put chemicals in the water supply of certain sink-estates to sterilise the population. The idea was that these people shouldn't be allowed to breed! My liberal core was shocked naturally but, as I get older and more jaded and read what some say on here, I figure maybe just a little vial of those chemicals wouldn't go amiss with the odd member.

ok guys lollllllllllllll, enough with the USA already, lollllllllllllllllll, i think its really a health issue, i may not like smoking myself, but i dont care if others do it, as for Europe, i think they leave it up to the choice of the person to smoke or not to smoke, i will say i get sick of commericals and promos telling me what i should and shouldnt do, we all know what isnt healthy for us, so enough already, and leave it to me to decide.

Is that true? I've never heard of it (it looks like political slander) lol. There are some sociology studies of that time period and today done by MIT and Oxford that are basically hinting towards eugenics and 'genetic superiority'. It's quite awkward to see smart people write about this.

There is a lot of mandatory Anti-drug & Anti-cigarette education in the USA.

You mean Lima and Petra being readheads?oh, here is something for you - I´ve left a part in Joe´s and Limey´s thread too, because frankly, it´s adorable

I forgot something while I was confessing Baron, that U.K. well...he's...your sonnnn
. Don't worry, we've made it just fine, keep your child support money
.

lollllllllllll i didnt think she was bashing hun, but for some odd reason, its a lovely word to throw around "those americans" lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, be it postive but its usually negative, im country proud, but dont always agree, hell i dont agree with alot of things here, but i digress, getting awy from the subject, but yes, what our country deems ok for commericals, isnt what the rest of the globe does lollllllllll, most are uptight a$$ wads alot of times, and smoke if you want dont if you dont want to, seeing a commerical or advert DOESNT make me want to smoke, so when people blame stuff like that, it honestly comes down to a choice to do or not to do ![]()

^I read about it quite a few years ago now, it was when some new government papers had been released to the public (after their statutory time kept 'secret'). I can't imagine it was a case of trying to discredit Churchill or his political affiliations as he's still considered a massive hero in the UK, plus he's been dead far longer and that shit's not going to bother him now is it?!!Rather I think it was a snapshot of a bygone age and the attitiude of the general elite to the proletariat. Thankfully these things were only ever heard out - I don't think there was any danger of them actually happening... This was (as ever in the UK) a case of class as opposed to racial differences or eugenics though. I'm not going near that stuff with a bargepole!!!

[^I blame those Plymouth Colony do-gooder first settlers!![]()
No, I don't think Jennka meant it in an anti-US way, rather that the majority of members on this forum are from the US - and whenever smoking issues come up - the forum (in general) seems to have a shocked/negative reaction...
I used to smoke
and still occasionally*ahem*partake, but it's just not an issue that perturbs me - and pictures of model's smoking don't fill me with apocalyptic dread!

^Awww! My cat used to wake me up by licking my eyelids, as well as tapping my cheek like that! You mean Lima and Petra being readheads?oh, here is something for you - I´ve left a part in Joe´s and Limey´s thread too, because frankly, it´s adorable

Well, even these old political 'hero' personalities (UK conservatives-Churchill) and US-Democrat (FDR)- US Republican (Reagan) are carefully maintained until today with political propaganda like hagiographies, media spin, historical manipulation, & rhetoric. They have to be..because history does influence expectations and thus voting choice. US Academics, public intellectuals, talking heads, etc. are paid princely sums to build cases for or against the history of a certain figure- ie. thus there are Republicans that are told stories that cause them to hate FDR, love Reagan. Democrats are told stories that cause them to hate Reagan, love FDR..
I assume that it's like that in the UK..though US political media is more active than most other countries..
hell, they even gamed the Nobel Prize in Economics for the last couple of the decades! ![]()
The whole uncomfortable stance held by MIT/Oxford academics is that human intelligence is mostly inherited (rather than mostly 'the blank slate' 'environmental'), and they believe that to be the case much more than it is politically correct. I know two men (physics professor, MIT) and my uncle (medical scientist) who have mentioned this to me and I find it rather uncomfortable. I mean, they both believe that IQ is big deal and there are 'considerable differences' in the mental facilities of different people. I have a lot of difficulty taking this view seriously, as I personally think that high intellectual capabilities can be trained (for most) over a long time period. I don't think that there are big differentials between individual brains, but rather big differentials in one's training in a certain 'slices' of knowledge and capability.
What I'm more curious about is who paid these academics to put up these positions!? And for what political reason!?
