^She married the national team's goalkeeper too, but she's been a fixture on Spanish TV for years. You have to admire the southern European approach to sports punditry (or just TV reporting in general): why bother with boring old ex-pros and established presenters when you can have hot women instead? By all accounts she knows what she's on about though, it's not just mere eye-candy.

Did she? I thought they are getting married (Sara and Iker) in August. Iniesta is married though.

^So, is this what gets you to post in my thread Princess? Pedantry?!!

Ah, mere semantics... OK not married then, but 'living in sin'.

Yes! I'm sorry but I'm very serious about my knowledge on marital status of sportsmen and celebrities, gossip websites teach me well :morning: besides, my cousin just experienced it's not worth quarelling with me about facts from famous people's life... I always win these battles then again, I could not believe she mistook trivia from Sara Carbonero's life with ones from one of the English WAGs

I just wanted to point out they are about to get married, but haven't tied the knot just yet.

Yeah.... that's pedantry I could and should use somewhere else :trout:

I was going to say Behati has a new compain in her thead, but I figure if I know it then its probably old news already .

^Yeah, what do you reckon?!! investigator.gif

Yeah.... that's pedantry I could and should use somewhere else :trout:

^I don't think it would be remiss of me to state that when it comes to inaccuracies and just plain 'nonsense pertaining to be fact' this thread is the least of Bellazon's worries! Get thee to the VS threads and put that pedantry to good use... 17433.gif

By the way, Radwanska? Big news at home? I had a cheeky bet on her - and got very excited that she made it to the final! Love the way she plays.

Also, I trust you saw/heard the result of the Blues/Pies hitout? <_<

^I've been away a few weeks (plus the Euros and Wimbledon) and am just catching up now. That emoticon you chose doesn't fill me with much hope though...

Well now, I didn't want to give anything away <_<

What could it be? the_horror.gif

How did you find the Wimbledon Men's final? I felt really bad for Murray - more so because I was rooting for Fed the whole way through.

Really big news! That's such a major thing for our history of female tennis.... I watched the match, not from the very beginning though and Serena was better... They looked funny next to each other, non? Anyway, Agnieszka came back home yesterday and she was greeted by fans at the airport in Cracow.

^Federer made a hell of a lot of errors in those first two sets, but when he's on form he's majestic! The Federer of 5 years ago played the finest and most entertaining tennis I've ever seen... But I thought Murray could have had him there - but the game turns on a pinpoint, doesn't it? And he had that quicksilver chance, and then it went away.

My favourite game of the championship though was that guy beating Nadal. Seriously, he looked and acted possessed - nothing was going to stop him! But then that demon left him just as quick and he lost in the next round. Black magic it was, all the way... :voodoo:

^Good. She deserved it. I don't care for Serena's style of play, or her questionable sportsmanship - although there's no denying her presence on court and what she's achieved. But I like the finesse of Radwanska, and that weird squat thing she does! Disappointed not to have made the cool £150 that was coming to me if it wasn't for Ms. Williams ( ), but she impressed me throughout the tournament nonetheless.

I'm a huge sports fan and know tons of athletes, but I'm not sure I could tell you any of their wives or girlfriedn's names . Well, that is aside from the ones that are big time celebrities. I'm kindof glad for it since I already know more about regular celebrities than I want to know .

Hey B. Have you ever fancied chanson? I am seriously falling for it recently. I have always had a thing for it but only recently I got to some CDs... for now only mix of songs, no particular interpret. But I watched some youtube vids from Lucienne Boyer and she is heavenly

Baron, by any chance have you heard about the new TV show where Gordon Ramsey teaches prisoners how to cook? Surely now it's only a matter of time before youth hostelling with Chris Eubank and monkey tennis hit our screens.

^I'd be happy anyways... You know, I hadn't noticed that sheerness there! I should probably go back and save the innocent from such a shocking thing.

^And for that you can only be commended. Sara Carbonero is a big name in Spain though, she's a famous sports presenter above and beyond her relationships. On a similar tip though, I'm currently struggling with Behati being only "Adam Levine's New Squeeze" and a barrage of commentary on her plain looks and gold-digging capabilities. <_<

^Funnily enough I was watching a film yesterday which had chanson as a theme of it's soundtrack (My Summer Of Love - perving on Emily Blunt. Again!). I haven't dipped too much into it beyond the obligatory Edith Piaf album, and a smattering of Yvette Printemps (Les Chemins De L'Amour (Y) ). I do like the later varieties of it, with Jacques Brel and Serge Gainsbourg - the style isn't dissimilar to my own native Tango, and it has a comforting familiarity to it because of that...

Any other Chanson recommendations?

^Can't come soon enough! Arm Wrestling With Chas And Dave? Come on!

Yes, I did see that show was on. I ignored it! By the way, just purchased the Partridge "autobiography" - and even just glancing at the captions under the (as all good autobiogs have) middle photo-section had me giggling away. Have you read it?

And did you see this "documentary":

Disappointingly, I haven't had the chance to take a look at the documentary yet but I did read the book and would definitely recommend it! It's a great satire on your usual yawn-fest celebrity autobiographies, not to mention a real treat for Partridge fans who want to fill in a few blanks between Alan's various TV and radio shows. Even more triumphant is the audiobook, as read by the man himself...

Not for now - I´ve been listening to the 100 Chansons pour Paris (no particular interpret) and Les Plus Grandes Chansons 1991 (again, no particular interpret) - and I love them all, I can´t really decide which album to find and buy

BUT - and I´m not sure if it´s chanson, but it does sound like it - I highly recommend you the soundtrack for Spirited Away, the last song is called Itsumo Dokodemo singed by Youmi Kimura - it just sounds like a Japanesse chanson I also searched for some Japanesse chanson (and I also want to search for a German one) - but for now no interpret, just few songs on youtube that sounded wonderful

So you recommend this Yvette Printemps?

Innocents...there is no such mentality anymore for we are all corrupt nowadays Sides, a bit of boobs never did hurt anyone right?

^They never did me any harm! mischievous_smilie.gif But one must be ever mindful of the rules I suppose, what with advertisers and all that. The (unintentional) hypocrisy surrounding what is or isn't nudity on here though is mind-boggling. That you end up being bombarded with hardcore porn on an outside server in order to see a sheer top from a catwalk show is a rather bizarre side-effect. And that's just one of many...

^Unfortunately I don't have access to this Sky Atlantic channel, which is now showing more Partridge. Given it's name, it seems strange that his appearances should now be confined to this exclusive channel. But that's fucking Murdoch for you!!!

Maybe this is the push I need to finally give audiobooks a go? I guess though the only time I'd be inclined to listen would be on a long journey, which would probably be in public. Ever been listening/watching something with earphones on and started laughing surrounded by people who have no idea what's going on?!! It's pretty embarrassing.

^I'd give that song a go, certainly - it's nice...

Spirited Away is wonderful isn't it (like all those Studio Ghibli films)? I know I take the piss out of the *cough* unicorn Coughing_Spam_emoticon.gif thing, but done right this sort of whimsy is beautiful. I don't know much Japanese music outside of 'J-Pop', the great Shonen Knife, and that aping of "far out" '60s rock styles that led to bands like Happy End...
