^I'm just about coping! Of course I don't know the man, but I've always thought he was a bit of a tool long before he took up with Behati (I expressed my opinion on here actually, during last year's VSFS if one needed proof!). And as for Captain Smug & His Frat Lackeys Maroon 5, well they've barely reached levels of mediocrity and render virile "rock" music impotent. That they are inexplicably popular doesn't give them any more credence...

:baronlamesign:

Of course it's a difficult field, who models choose as their boyfriends, and invariably they let you down! I mean, I was pretty much OK with Jamie Strachan - aside from feeling insane jealousy - but this cretin appearing next to her is upsetting and you end up questioning her judgement; which I know is absurd. I see you are a fan of Magda too - I like the cut of her boyfriend. I don't know if you saw the video of the two of them on some Polish TV show but they seem a cool couple? I think if they take up with artists or photographers then it's all good. For some reason that passes my strict criteria... My first model crush was Helena Christensen, and when she took up with Michael Hutchence I was happy as the 14 year old me had long hair and fancied himself a rock star too!!!

In real life though I've always been disappointed by a girl I might like taking up with some idiot someone else, or especially my ex-girlfriend's choices after me! I guess we see ourselves a certain way, or imagine they like us because of x - and then this guy comes along who looks nothing like you and has no superficial resemblance in how he carries himself, and you're predisposed to hate him anyway, and you wonder what the fuck that's all about. Deep down though, of course, it's because he's not you - and vanity is irrelevant, we just think we're irreplaceable!

^hmm agreed! Thought Adam was a large douche as well. Just by the way he carries himself....I would think what does Behati like in that? Well behati is sort of a "wild child" herself,so maybe they are realllly reallly perfect for eachother....

Oh and yeah seen mags and her BF...they seem like a really sweet couple. IThey just seem like a perfect fit......not to sound cliche but they look like they really belong together. I get what ya mean about models getting with the artists, photographers ect......its kinda similar to thier modeling craft... Well I should say field.....it seems to fit ya know?

^I guess he must have something about him (besides, of course, a few million dollars) to attract the calibre of lady that he does; and, as I said before, I don't know him outside the media image we all have. He's done a thoroughly wonderful job of hiding any charisma he may possess thus far though...

But, yeah, who can quantify attraction anyway? It's all well and good me being confused by my ex-girlfriend's post-Baron choices, but then I have to concede that my inamoratas are just as scattershot (with due deference to Cult Icon's postulation on cheekbones!). With the girls on here, I'm more interested in their modelling than their love-lives anyway.

How often do you play recreational football? My little freelance soccer team got blown out again . As always, it was good excercise and fun anyway. I'm ashamed to disclose the score though . I was the goalkeeper, so I took a lot of the blame, although the general defense was either terrible and didn't give me much of a chance or they had at least one 'almost went pro' guy on their side. Its scary to think what a real pro would have done .

^A good goalkeeper should always blame his defence!

It's a shame really, a goalie could have a cracking game and save a dozen shots - but your team lose 1-0 and subliminally it's you that bears the brunt of it...

Actually I haven't played as much as I should lately - but thats being in rainy olde England. When I was teaching a semester at the local University a few months ago I did fill in for the department's 5-a-side team when they were short though. I had a certain cache being Argentino, with the perception that I'd therefore be shit-hot, and I think any prolonged exposure would have revealed this to be a fallacy! My "skills" on the pitch tend to be blistering runs on the wing( ), and I think the smaller playing area stifles my brilliance - I'm sure... :FootballThread:

I must be a good goalie then . Its interresting that you say you don't play as much as you should whereas I probably play more than I watch. That's not to say I couldn't watch more, but I like so many sports that some just naturally get shortchanged. On the positive end though, when I'm really tired and do have time to watch, I find the back and forth action so hypnotyzing that it usually doesn't matter to me who's playing. Of course, that could just mean my tastes aren't as refined on that end though.

^One of the first things I learned while playing the game at school was that as an outfield player, particularly as a defender (I used to play right/centre midfield or at a push, right full back) you do whatever you can to keep the ball away from your goalkeeper. The 'keeper is your last line of defence and if he's constantly under pressure, he can never save everything. Of course, mistakes can and will happen but when he's called upon too often, it's because the rest of the team haven't done their jobs properly. So Joe, you're well within your rights to blame your teammates!

And Baron, while we're on the subject of football/soccer, and on the off chance you weren't glued to Thursday night's Liverpool-Udinese game, feast your eyes on probably the most hilariously cynical foul of all time.

Raul Julia did a hilarious job doing this (but meanwhile, he was dying of cancer ) :

Come to think of it, Hugo Weaving's Red Skull was nearly identical..(but less over-the top :-p) version of 'Bison'.

^Funnily enough I saw those last night and I wondered what you would make of them! Did you hear that Numéro changed the 'ribcage' shot? There's a piece on it here (the same NUDITY applies if there are any such prudes who visit my thread!): http://fashioncopiou...rlies-ribs.html

They're both pretty terrible, IMHO. It's just a bad pose, and yet they printed it. Karlie's been photographed with a personal trainer, so in time I suppose he'll get her into a different shape.

Since you guys are both field guys, I do have a general question. Is it practical for soccer players to exercise by doing cardio excercises? It would seem to me that by simply practicing playing actual soccer would kill two birds with one stone on that end .

^I'm sure that was just a (very) pre-goal celebratory hug? Did he get reprimanded for that?

^I'm sure professionals do all manner of exercise when they're not engaging in spit-roasting, selling their image rights, and twittering obscenities and ill-informed rants. Personally a game or two a week would be the total of my exercise "routine"! I mean I walk everywhere, and do 20 minute aerobic exercise most days, but I'm not one for the gym...

I suspect Pinzi had been watching wildlife documentaries beforehand, it reminded me of a lion leaping onto a gazelle. The commentator screamed blue murder at the time, and in the end it was deemed worthy of a yellow card...

To be fair, I’d probably prefer a defender do that when I was running through than snapping at my heels. Equally blatant but far less likely to cause injury. That being said, after he was left in the dust by Stewart Downing (of all people) I'd have been tempted to show Pinzi a straight red, just to save him any further embarrassment.

It's commonplace for smaller pros to do additional weight training in order to improve strength and avoid getting knocked off the ball by larger opponents, or to do extra cardio stuff to improve stamina. But really, it takes all sorts. Even in these times of finely-tuned athletes, nutrition experts and fitness coaching, some players manage to maintain smoking habits (Mario Balotelli recently incurred his manager's wrath for smoking in the dressing room before a game!) and still play at the highest level. Speaking broadly and in terms of basic exercise and general enjoyment though, playing the game a couple of times each week would keep anyone pretty fit.

^I suppose that's the only way to play a character in a video-game - chewing-the-wallpaper over-the-top-ness! The most "hilarious" things in that film though are the twin combo of Jean Claude Van Damme's hair and Jean Claude Van Damme's US accent. I won't have a word said against him in TimeCop mind you...

By the way, did you know the "M" in M.Bison stands for Mike? His name was supposed to be that of the boxer (Balrog) as in Mike Tyson yet there was some legal dispute with that and the names got swapped around... I always thought it was a weird name for the main antagonist.

No, I didn't. I've always felt, however, that the characters in Street Fighter were designed by a genius :-p..The arcade game still brings back childhood memories of mashing buttons outside of restaurant- my personal favorite was 'Chun-Li' as you didn't have to know the move combinations in order to win.

And Street fighter is supposed to be one of those 'so bad, it's good' movies :-)

------------

Baron, do you happen to have pictures of Behati with Angel wings? I saw one in her thread last week for the first time.

---

Also, I'm a bit miffed that two of my favorite models- Nimue and Freja- have made questionable career decisions. Freja has virtually quit modeling while she was on top (still rank top 15 on models.com- she was always 1 or 2 for a long time) and Nimue spends a lot of time going to college, which is really such a waste for highly billed top model. (rank 29 on models.com). She passes job opportunities left and right so she can read books and take tests.

This is Freja hanging around, but not walking :

Good points, I guess they are competing with each other, so any extra helps. Of course, I don't actually do a whole log of running around with it myself aside from laterally but I do find that basketball, swimming, climbing, rowing and bike riding to be probably the funnest ways to stay fit for recreational purposes. Walking everywhere is pretty cool too since it allows you to take more in.

It is indeed interresting that a sport with so many players of such a high skill level has such funny bloopers to its name .

^Do you "shoot hoops" a lot - out on the asphalt? Maybe have a "deep and meaningful" about like as you go "mano a mano" with a "bud"? Sorry, just got carried away knocking out the movie clichés here!!!

But really, without that silliness, do you? It's getting far more commonplace in Bs.As. Of course it's never going to trump futbol - but you do see young kids doing that more...
