^I always played Sagat - TIGER!I've always felt, however, that the characters in Street Fighter were designed by a genius :-p..The arcade game still brings back childhood memories of mashing buttons outside of restaurant- my personal favorite was 'Chun-Li' as you didn't have to know the move combinations in order to win.
My favourite would have to be Ken. Granted, Ryu is most recognisable as the face of Street Fighter but I always found Ken to be a slightly cooler character. In gaming terms, there were few more satisfying things than hitting your mates with a precision flaming Dragon Punch.
Nice red pyjamas too!

^Isn't it wise to have something to fall back on? Of course 'make hay whilst the sun shines' - but I don't know if she's making enough to warrant ignoring future career prospects...Also, I'm a bit miffed that two of my favorite models- Nimue and Freja- have made questionable career decisions. Freja has virtually quit modeling while she was on top (still rank top 15 on models.com- she was always 1 or 2 for a long time) and Nimue spends a lot of time going to college, which is really such a waste for highly billed top model. (rank 29 on models.com). She passes job opportunities left and right so she can read books and take tests.
Freja, I imagine, probably did. For a time there she was the absolute darling (alongside Daria Werbowy). You get a few perfume campaigns, or brand "ambassadoring" and you're laughing.
^I take it you mean outside of the VSFSs themselves? Wearing catalogue wings is a recent development, one I'm happy to see as it denotes some sort of seniority (however tenuous these things are with such a flibbertigibbet company as VS is), but these are all the ones that have come out thus far:Baron, do you happen to have pictures of Behati with Angel wings? I saw one in her thread last week for the first time.

^I'll give you that - but you thought Ken was cool?My favourite would have to be Ken. It's funny how all fighting games seem to have that in common - that you can have a reasonable run of success with random button mashing, even against someone who moderately knows what they're doing. It's only when you get to the next tier of skill that you'd get your arse handed to you ![]()
It's kind of a shame how much of a laughing stock the 'video game movie' has become. Understandably so, with the track record such that it is, and the continual appointment of directors who've made careers of pissing on much loved franchises. The level of writing, storytelling, acting and creativity that gets put into some games though, goes above and beyond what you see in some of the crap that the Hollywood machine churns out. People who aren't gamers will never really get to see or appreciate that. Of course, there's an intrinsic component of interactivity with the characters, story and world that will always fail to translate into film, which is why they should never even bother to go anywhere near certain titles. Fighting games for starters
Some games though, are crying out for a cinematic adaptation, and could be spectacular if they were shown the love and attention they deserve.
That said, JCVD's Street Fighter was awesome, in a special kind of way ![]()

I always thought he was a try-hard next to Ryu! The one I always hated playing was Vega as I found him impossible to control. Whenever we'd play some sort of tournament and draw lots for characters he'd be last on my list. E.Honda and his supersonic 'wank hand' was the easiest!

Call me superficial, but Ken's moves were ever so slightly flashier, with his aforementioned flaming Dragon Punch (I believe Ryu's was flame-less) and double roll throw.
Blanka and Cammy were favourites too. The only two guys I avoided like the plague were Vega (a very tough character to play as and very annoying to fight) and Dhalsim. I remember a friend of mine always used to swear by him though, because if he beat you with the game's slowest character, your humiliation was that much greater! Many a time, I'd suffer taunts of "You can't even beat Dhalsim!" in high-pitched voices. ![]()

Yeah, unfortunately people hold video game adaptations in great contempt these days, and I guess it's with good reason, since the vast majority either show total disregard for the source material or completely misunderstand it. I don't necessarily think it'll always be that way though, I mean, comic book movies were still something of a Hollywood punchline until recently, but it would appear that they're being taken quite seriously now. There's been a big difference in quality between the likes of Catwoman and Daredevil and the more up to date fare of the Iron Man, Avengers and Dark Knight movies. Maybe video game adaptations will eventually follow suit.
The Street Fighter movie definitely veered towards 'so bad it's good' territory, though. My favourite bit was when a bunch of evil henchmen were watching a giant truckload of explosives heading towards them on one of those security monitors, and Zangief was like "Quick! Change the channel!" ![]()

Cult Icon, you of all people, I'd expect being more appreciative towards a model who wants to get great education
Nimue's not quite like Daria or Vodianova and don't think she'll ever be, so it's nice she's already thinking about her future ![]()
Then again, I used to think like you-that why 'waste' time on school, you can always get back to it or start studying later... but now I don't think like that anymore. I mean, back when I was 17, if I heard "you'll have great modelling career in modelling but you need to be airplane-schooled[/]" or something like that I'd probably throw everything in a heartbeat. But now at 22, I think that even blessing from Tom Ford wouldn't speed my decision to just leave everything behind...

Yeah, I do like to play a little power forward when I get the chance
. I also like to play HORSE too, though. In my experience, Germans seem to love that game even more than Americans although I always have to brace myself for the fact that they might not want to let you go home
. Even though I prefer playing offensive line in American football and basketball is my second favorite team sport by comparisson, like soccer, its obviously something that is easier to do in a casual setting.

I always wondered if Ken and Ryu were actually identical minus the way they looked and dressed. Despite that, I seem to have more success with Ryu. Maybe its a mental thing
. I'm by no means elite, but I seem to have tremendous success with that arm stretching guy, Vega and the boxer guy for some reason
. On the flip side, I've never beat Chun Li with Vega before which made me wonder if she was programmed to beat him
. That Street Fighter meets Marvel is pretty fun to me too actually
.

Hey B, finally here too!! Things got settled down a little in work, so I hope I will have more time for BZ as well ![]()
I need to visit my own thread as well
just wanted to see what´s new in my fav guys.
I´m recently being furious over stupid people around me - I don´t know if it´s in air or something? It´s a virus? - firstly this mother who is just not able to control her spoiled child and THEN even carries his school bag while he is running around and screaming (oh hell, where are you Chuck when we need you and your spinning kick) and then this stupid woman in grocery with a shopping truck that could not wait one minute till I packed all my things and pushed into me with that stupid truck like she was the only one who wanted to pay for that. Everything in one day, not mentioning the other things that keep happening to me since I started to go home from work by tram.
These are times when I feel the urge to live somewhere with NO people around, just the nature and me and animals, and no stupid kids, no stupid mothers and no stupid old ladies with shopping trucks. I would sit there, talk to wind about poetry and read about black holes ![]()

^I have to say, despite, my earlier point, if I knew then what I know now and all that, there were opportunities I turned down at that age because of my education that I wished I'd have taken instead. Then again, I used to think like you-that why 'waste' time on school, you can always get back to it or start studying later... but now I don't think like that anymore. I was the first in my family to go to university and as such it was a BIG deal to everyone, I felt a certain responsibility even though I figured out in the second year that I'd be best placed elsewhere. There was a point, literally, when I could (and in retrospect should) have run away and joined the circus, plus other potential adventures - now I see it would have been fairly easy to return to higher education after such a flight of fancy...
^What's HORSE then?Yeah, I do like to play a little power forward when I get the chance

I firmly believe that the joy and superiority of football over other sports is that you can play it anywhere at any time. "Jumpers for goalposts" and all that, but, yes, any space you can adapt. Hell, you don't even need a ball! ![]()

That said, JCVD's Street Fighter was awesome, in a special kind of way
^Yes, it doesn't take itself seriously like those interminably conveyor-belt Resident Evil films. Also even when visuals and atmosphere are great like in Silent Hill, you need a story to go along with it - these filmmakers should remember that when they adapt a game. The Street Fighter movie definitely veered towards 'so bad it's good' territory, though. My favourite bit was when a bunch of evil henchmen were watching a giant truckload of explosives heading towards them on one of those security monitors, and Zangief was like "Quick! ^This sounds a wonderfully civilised way to spend some time. Its a game where one person tries a shot and the other person has to try the same shot from the same distance and stance. For each failure, you get a letter from the word horse. The first person to get all of the letters is eliminated. As to the superiority based on those terms, I guess it depends on the criteria. I know for me, thumb wars is the sport I can play the most often ![]()
, but I much prefer mountain climbing, rowing, paintball ect. which I can't do that often. Actually, in terms of the plain fun factor, I prefer the 'second tier' type sports such as those over any of the major ones.

I actually hope that there are only few people who dream about such things
because yes, in case all the people would love to do this, the nature would be overcrowded and the whole idea useless ![]()
But I always will take you and Behati, and Daria, and Gisele with me
What a trip it would be ![]()

O.O

Yeah, I figured you didn't mean any malice by it although I'm used to those that do
. Here there's a lot of Mexicans who do that is although many of the American born ones are more hardcore into the NFL. I find that someone interresting seeing as how Hispanics as a whole are the second largest group here and yet there's actually more good Hawaiian NFL players than Hispanic. That said, its interresting to me that the gentleman that played Gandolf was equally believable as Magneto and to me actually played it so well, I didn't think about or care that he didn't really look like him
. I didn't look him up yet I guess because I'm somewhat warry of learning about the personal lives of celebs on my own seeing as how I'm forced to against my will for the 'A list.' Long story short, I was just curious whether you were familiar with his work in general by any chance.

her name fucking sparkles! Just not her name coming in, no no just Behati it ain't good enough, it has to go horizontally across and fucking sparkle in. Bad ass man... Mind you it's just a sparkle in the middle BUT STILL!

^As long as you'd accept I'd be trying to take Behati off to look at some "interesting" tree or some other made up shit at every opportunity? But I always will take you and Behati, and Daria, and Gisele with me
What a trip it would be

Baron...she has arrived! Now I can have a proper days ending

Baron, I'm going to see 'The Motorcycle Diaries'. If you've seen it, what do you think of it? In reading the sypnosis, it appears that the Diaries and Che's experiences mirrors Marx/Engel's experiences among the 19th century factory system and the working poors of Manchester.
I'm okay with spoilers, btw, since this is a biopic.
What is Marxism to you in Argentina? In the US, it's a bogeyman/meme term, often combined with Red Mao, the Soviets, socialism, those "Europeans", French, government, etc. and have been used to describe hundreds of different situations. But its use is nearly always inappropriate and irrelevant, as outside of a minority of, usually college educated, have some acquaintance with it on their own time. So there's a near total ignorance as to what it actually is and where its influence has survived in the modern world.
It seems that Marxism and Marx is universally understood better outside of the US while in the US, we have a hegemony of Keynesian ideology that has borrowed a little from Marxism in the form of emphasis on capital flows/class, and then it proceeded to throw out old-school Marxism from public life. Essentially, both channel the same types of people but subside in vastly different conditions.

What do you guys think of Caroline Brasch Nielsen?
Doesn't she remind you guys of Selma Blair?
