Behati's done nothing new that's upset me; it's just taking me a lonnng time to get past the gurning face and weedy "rock" of Captain Smug every time I see her now... oops.gif

I didn't even know they were back together.. now Google tells me they're engaged

I suppose I should thank her for taking one for the team

^Well, I just meant it tastes like cherries!   But I take your point... Do you use "peach" in that way too?

Yes, it'll soon be the olive harvest. Time to get the goat out to headbutt the trunk - how much like a euphemism does that sound? mischievous_smilie.gif

Oh, whoops...I took that in a whole other direction there didn't I? And nope, I have never used or heard peach played in that manner. Maybe I should talk to a few southern friends to see what gives with the peach

The olive harvest sweet! How big is the orchard if you don't mind me asking? Ha, if you want I can put on my helmet and help out? Hows that for a little "elbow grease" attitude with a side of euphemism?

Well I would of never known! Interesting tid-bit there sir...now you have me thinking about the flavor profile of that oh-so delicious style of spirit! And aged 18 years, that is going to be one pricey bottle! Well enjoy a nice extra drink for me sir I will see if I can purchase it online or if it's even available in our area.

^Well, I just gave a bottle to my papa in Spain (hence my lag in response time) and he seemed to be appreciative - although he could have just been being polite! "Cherry", if that makes any inroads with you..? The 12 year is fine too which is about half the price.

haha well I don't know too much about japense cinema, so I won't have much to contribute to the convo, but still I wouldn't mind hearing

^I'm giving you this as an 'entry-level' recent Japanese film I adored:

It's odd (but, frankly, most of them are), but the pay-off is sublime. Plus, the band sound like The Buzzcocks - and that lone is worth sitting through it...

Failing that, anything starring Hikari Mitsushima, who I have a big crush on!

hehe thats the first time I've ever seen Japanese perform Rock But the storyline itself looks good, and the filming does too..it looks like it does alot of face paced cuts and I like that style. Anyways its crazy how many great foreign films out there...

Googled her, and shes adorable! cute hair, cute face, all around cute! Can you speak Japanese?

Baron, I finally managed to catch 'The Tunnel'. As far as I can tell, it's a straight copy, so I'm expecting few surprises, but I'm happy to report that it's very well done and every bit as chilling as the original (the Eurotunnel setting in particular is creepsville city). They've even supplied Clémence with a classic Porsche.

^ Hmmm I don't think so? She's never dated a millionaire (or at least there was no mention of that). She used to date some Mexican artist and then there's that ex. Before the Mexican guy I think she also mentioned dating (a bit older?) architect. Besides, judging by her 'red carpet' style alone I don't think she'd be too impressed with a guy promising her Versace and Dolce entire collections. And it's not like Magda was a rich girl growing up so I don't think it would be unusual for her to date an 'ordinary' guy

Haha Pretty I like seeing these maps and some of these things made me laugh.

From my perspective I have to say that Romania=Gypsies is the most accurate, that is, sooo many people think this. Also descriptions of other 4 countries seem to be pretty accurate but in general this looks half true. I mean, it's not to be taken seriously but I'd say more people have other associations/opinions for those countries.

^As much as any sane person should (though, admittedly, not as much as donbot!). Why'd you ask? Since Behati's terrible lapse of judgement though <_<, I'm all about the Magda (Hikari, and a million other Japanese actresses/models aside)...

Some of behati's hand gestures and personality ticks remind me of some Japanese women and entertainers.  Does it to you?

Not really. I've been learning but it's very hard with the different alphabet(s). I can count and recognise numbers, and I can pass pleasantries/ask directions, that sort of thing. I've watched so many Japanese movies now that I can pick up some words and phrases, preempting the subtitles, which fills me with an enormous sense of self-satisfaction!

And yes, you really need to expand your cinematic horizons with foreign films. They tend not to have Leo in them, but I'm sure you'll enjoy them anyways!

I can't even imagine trying to learn Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, all that....with how diffferent their alphabets are Though they would probably say ours is too difficult to understand

lol I have a hard enough time trying to get around to seeing the U.S films I wanna see But I always see every year at the Oscars what ones are nominated and maybe check them out further, because otherwise there is no way I would know about them

And GASP a movie without leo in it is BLINDING to the eyes. :D lol I"m actually quite the movie person, I've got an enormous DVD collection (yes including almost every leo movie out there okay don't judge ) This past halloween though made me sad because I realized I only have like 3 scary movies

^Tell me, is it properly bilingual too? I mean is half of it in French? My (very) limited Swedish meant that I could recognise that the original was in two languages, but then they are still quite similar and the two protagonists could roughly get on in each other's countries (although, as I recall, he was much better at that than she was). It's still annoying me that I don't have the chance to see it, and that already knowing the story and it's denouement means that I probably wouldn't go as far as to buy the inevitable box-set. I see this intriguing 'Penny Dreadful' show is a Sky Atlantic thing too, so more annoyance is on the way...

It’s mostly bilingual, but the French characters are the ones who display the majority of the linguistic skills, so overall it’s probably weighted at about 60-40 in favour of English speakers. Plus, the cocky cock journo and the ‘social worker’ are both based in Folkestone. I’m three episodes in now and I must say, it’s started to mark its own territory a little, although it's still touching all the same bases. Unless there's a dramatic swerve later on, I can't imagine you'd be missing anything that genuinely sets it apart from the original.

While on the subject of French-speaking dramas, did you catch ‘The Returned’ on Channel 4 earlier this year? I was a latecomer to it, but I’m now utterly hooked!

LOL! I never thought I'd have my own . Of course, miss Pinks already had 2 and I gave her 1, so 3 would only tie the record .

I'm starting to really like classical music. Well, I'm a general fan of instrumentals (jazz, blues, metal ect.) so it was inevitable. Like I said before, I kindof shied away from it before because I didn't want to be like some of the snobs I know, but found a liking to listening to it on a mixed (old and modern) station on long trips. I think I actually like more than a couple more than Mozart hiding.gif but that's just my personal taste opposed to an assessment of talent as he actually was apparently more talented than most of those I like more. From just listening to songs I haven't heard and hearing who it is afterward, I have somehow picked up a certain feel for who it is and that's not something I expected so soon. At first I was looking to see if I would think as highly of Mozart and Beethoven if I just heard songs I've never heard before mixed with other composers, but even in those cases, their songs still stand out to me as being on a higher level than most. I already liked Tchaikovsky and Schubert and have actually come to like Beethoven even more. I've come to really like Weber and Rossini and had never heard of Zelenka at all, but have become a big fan of him as well .

^I've said it before, but getting an emoticon names after me remains my proudest moment on here!

Yes, it's amazing how quickly you can pick up the signatures of various composers. When I was younger and they'd play pieces in quizzes and ask 'who is that?' I used to think that was the most impossible thing. I'm no expert, but there are certain ones I can pick out now (opera too)...

Yes, loved The Returned and looking forward to its, uh, return... 17433.gif I see it too is getting the inevitable US makeover. I wonder if we can make a unneeded third this time as well?!  <_<
