^Really? You've never said a good thing is a 'peach'? Or how about a thing not working properly as a 'lemon'? Ah, fruit based metaphors...

'Orchard' is a rather grand way of putting it! There are only 10, plus 10 almond trees as well. It's a nice little added income though, but I could hardly live like a king off the back of them.

I need to pick up on my fruit bastard metaphors...bruise like a banana or avocado? Oh the dilemma here!

Well 1 month like a king then? Random tidbit but if memory serves me right our state is the leading producer of almonds in the world. I think we dominate a high double digit percentage of the market these days.

Yes, it's amazing how quickly you can pick up the signatures of various composers. When I was younger and they'd play pieces in quizzes and ask 'who is that?' I used to think that was the most impossible thing. I'm no expert, but there are certain ones I can pick out now (opera too)...

The few opera singers I know I can recognize although that genre's probably the next on the to do list .

^I've said it before, but getting an emoticon names after me remains my proudest moment on here!

Glad to hear it . I was proud to be (along with Penny) one of the two members mentioned in your departing post. Of course (as is self evident) you did come back, but the fact that it was your 10,000th post wasn't lost on the eyes of these criminal profiling quick skimming eyes of mine anyway . Still don't have time to see the photos from this year's show but I saw the outfits worn by Magdalena, Kasia and Monika thanks to one of the gossip websites Poor Moni, was her outfit inspired by kindergarden children? Wait, don't answer that :|

^Like I said, a goat comes and headbutts those trees and then the shepherd takes them away... I get paid by the weight of the yield, I don't keep any barring a few I might nibble on! As far as I know they are taken for their oil and used for a Spanish company that makes a suntan lotion with almonds amongst other things.

That said, I do like a bit of marzipan or praline... msn-12.gif

The entire PINK walkthrough looks like it was inspired by toddlers/kindergartners/dog clothing plus internet emoticons.

^ gorgeous girl but these balloons... they're real? Lmao, looks like bad 'photo art' of 8 year olds. Or my ex classmate (over 20) who decorates her fb pictures of her and her boyfriend with juvenile hearts and smileys

Layla,

I think they were balloons attached to large plastic straws.  The inspiration was probably from children's straws.

This has been moving around the Internets.  Haha, her outfit looks so much like clothing fit for small dogs:

Backstage photos show that Monica was hanging out with the 'young' generation of top models (age around 21) rather than the older ones.  Regardless of her outfit, she seems to have had a good time according to these photos:     And she is doing a swimsuit shoot for them now.

^Her name is Degen (Lindsay) - given the photos I've found of her (evidence in sig) she seems to want people to know that (a lot)!    And that picture is 'Spurious' worthy... 1062-wine.gif

And, yes, despite the clusterfuck of an outfit foisted upon her (and others, I tell you I completely forgot Sara Sampaio was in the show until I saw that picture of her above) the VS gig is obviously still a good one to have on the CV, and that the calibre of Cintia and Eniko keep going for it speaks volumes. What happens next in the process is anybody's guess.  :notsure:

^I do hope the show has plenty of non-British models mangling attempting faux-cockney accents and talking about crumpets and tea like, of course, everybody does in the UK... whatever.gif

Tyra does a particularly obnoxious version. It's times like this I shall miss her presence.

The costumes were pretty hackneyed - and fed into that chimchimneychimchimneychimchimcheree-outdated outlook of the country that Hollywood peddles in. I can only wait nervously as to what music Swift et al butchered accompanied the segment with?

Still, it's times like this that I pull out my other passport and hide behind that... 1188-argentina.gif

Yes, loved The Returned and looking forward to its, uh, return... 17433.gif I see it too is getting the inevitable US makeover. I wonder if we can make a unneeded third this time as well?!  <_<

I hadn't heard that, although I can't honestly say I'm surprised. If they were to spin it so that the same situation started springing up in other countries, it could be really interesting, but I suppose the more likely outcome is that we get a straight copy. They'll certainly have their work cut out to find another kid as spooky as little Victor...

^Yes - I should have made special mention of that sinister little bastard! 38573061.gif

Remakes are an homage, I suppose... At least they imply that the original is worth it - although it often just smacks of subtitle-averse laziness. US network TV is a voracious beast though, and it would need more episodes than the measly amount European series generally seem to churn out.

This past halloween though made me sad because I realized I only have like 3 scary movies

^Which are what?

pssst_zps1f728b2c-1.gif Is one of them Critters 3?!

bwahaha no

No all the scary movies I own are The Shining, The Crazies, and Dawn of the Dead I own alot of thrillers though, but not alot of horror movies. Pretty much though the only movies I go watch in the theatres are scary movies! There were quite a few good ones this year..

Evil Dead, The Conjuring, and Your Next (which was suprisingly SUPER good)

Only real disappointment was the very sincere and unsarcastic style of presentation, which as we all know, is about as un-British as it gets! Not that one could reasonably expect subtlety to be a particular priority at VSFS, of course. Beyond that, it was more or less what I would have expected - swinging London, cups of tea, mods, bobbies and union jacks. I will admit to being quite fond of Cara Delevingne’s football kit, though.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that the final broadcast contains speeded up footage of Ed Razek chasing the girls around the runway, ala Benny Hill.

With the show coming out soon, I guess we'll see for sure.

I was doing a review of Hilary Rhoda's thread and it was interesting to see information about her in the late 2000s.. She had been going to VS castings but had only been selected right now.  As you can see, she looks considerably older and more gaunt than she did in 2009. (worse..)  Some of these model fans commented that her image was 'too posh' for walking VS. During that time, she was a Ralph Lauren girl and such.

Maybe Eniko and Cintia will get their day.  Cintia, however, is the face of a lingerie brand 'Hope' and they have shows of their own.

Interestingly enough, they did a British race car driver one which coincides with the recent Film.  Why are cockney accents often used?  I think there were some in 'Snatch' (Brad Pitt) and 'Layer Cake'
