Cheers that just makes me feel even more of a idiot!

You got nothing on our winters :morning:

Strangely I've started liking this weather, even though I can feel my feet freezing even though I wear thick tights AND socks and very warm winter shoes it's so cold and in my neighbourhood there's almost no snow.

This (cold) weather, when I don't see much snow around but the sun can be shining quite strong makes me think about these photoshoots were models are in very thin clothes and the temperature is so low.... I thought photographers 'sacrifiece' models only for these photoshoots but I remember seeing this interview with Charlize Theron when she said she felt really cold during her latest Vogue US (cover) shoot because they did this in October by the sea. I don't know if she mentioned the temperature though....

Haha btw do you guys sometimes visit fashion/style blogs? It makes me roll my eyes when I see some of these bloggers being all like 'winter hit it so hard today I had to wear my new warm ZARA cardigan, which I paired with (obviously faux) fur scarf' yet even though it's so 'freezing' most of them seem to never wear hats I get that it's for their little photoshoots, so maybe they take the hats of only for these few minutes when they have their photos taken.... or not? Either way I find it silly

They have even stronger cold in Russia and Canada, (and other parts of the world) so... no need to feel like an idiot

I like cold weather too, only when it doesn´t snow and the wind doesn´t blow... because it might be -12, but with the crazy wind blowing it feels like -30 and here the wind gets very strong recently, which is really awful.

Lay, I only visit Clara Alonso´s blog from time to time, to practice my Spanish... never seen such things like you wrote, loool however I see lot of women / young girls here not wearing hats because "it would damage their hairstyle" - and I´m like, what the f*ck, you rather freeze your head to death than damage your hairstyle, what a brain!

Definitely. Limer and Sweet rus would tell us more about it :morning:

Ugh windy, wet weather is the worst!!

I don't know Clara's blog, is it a typical fashion/style blog then? With people posting photos of their outfits.

I don't get the logic too :| it's not like not wearing anything on your head will prevent you from 'damaging' your hair. Anothe interesting thing is that the girls who talk about not wearing hats because they are afraid of damaging their hairstyle just have their hair down, or in a ponytail which is easy to fix... and then they are wondering how they caught a cold

There is good and bad in being a staff member. Of course one pitfall for me is that pms used to be for me and now they're pretty much requests exclusively . I guess the various pms and emails cursing me out could be counted as a pitfall for some, but I don't back down from confrontation in person, so internet gangsters can't rattle me much. One aspect is even though I have to mediate between altercations, I see some I wouldn't have seen otherwise and get to laugh secretly . Well, I guess not that secretly. I hope this doesn't get me in trouble, but...

Favorite Member Rivalries (Of Members that Don't Post Here)

9-10. - various one hit wonder squables.

8. phenobarbie vs. Theron - the way they would go back and forth about his results and different things was pretty funny.

7. Talisa vs. the Candice thread - some said that I should have banned her, but I thought she was workable and was able to get through to her and she reformed. That said, I thought she was pretty funny myself and partially regret that the sensitivity of the members causes us to miss out on really great material.

6. Ophelia Immortal vs. Stamaholic - this one wasn't heated, but was no less interresting. Stamaholic is a British woman who loves T&A and is very vocal about weight. Quite naturally, she and Ophelia were the opposite on a lot of issues and when she would say such and such is too skinny, Ophelia would say she was that size. On the other end, if Ophelia said her boobs are too big, Stamaholic would say hers were even bigger. It wasn't heated by any means, but it was kindof funny in a way.

5. phenobarbie vs. Ariesdior - the great thing about this one is the fact that I've gotten reports telling me they were the same person and had to explain how they weren't. Aside from that different complaints about both for the same reasons so when they actually fell out with each other, it was kindof funny I must admit because it both proved they weren't the same person and it was kindof funny in general.

4. Penny vs. Jal - Penny is the ultimate friend in that if a friend is under attack, she comes to the rescue. When Jal decided to dis RJTyler in his milestones thread by calling him a spammer, she unleashed her fury exclaimated by a huge rotating f**k you gif. I think they reconciled, but that was still pretty funny.

3. mbinebri vs. Nemeside - I think they started off with him defending Marisa and from there, they soon realized that they disagreed on pretty much everything.

2. mbinebri vs. Sweetandlow - something about the subject of SI would always stir up the bad blood between these two. The arrangement would usually go that she would make a long post, he would find a sentence he disagreed with, quote that part and then they'd be at it. My favorite exchange is when she told him she had him on ignore and they argued about the merit of putting people on ignore .

1. AnaBBarrosFan vs. vanessaaa - Ah AnaBBarrosFan, what can I say? She's definitely a top 10 favorite member of mine and she's also the only member whose bad side I'd hate to be on. As to these two, when vanessaaa said that her tastes sucked in reference to a vote or comment she made, she just let it all hang out about how much she didn't think she was cute and to never talk to her again.

Favorite Model Haters

I find most pretty annoying and others are funny. These are my favorite ones.

10. vanessaaa (Kate Upton)

9. COP11 (Adriana Lima) - I don't think she realizes that she's said her name more than anyone else in her thread . Either way, there are many Lima haters but she's my favorite.

8. sagitario (Gisele Bunchen)

7. Michellabella (Lily Cole)

6. Nemeside (Marisa Miller)

5. mbinebri (Doutzen Kroes)

4. Talisa (Candice Swanepoel)

3. Michael* (Cheryl Cole) - not a model, but I guess she's a part time commercial model. Either way, tis always funny .

2. AnaBBarrosFan (Barbara Palvin)

1. PinkCouture (Gemma, Vlada, Sasha who she refers to as the "Alien Trolls")

Pure gold, this post

btw Joe, Messi is a God. Really. I do not generally watch football, but I will watch any match he´s in. He´s an artist, watching him playing is like watching Da Vinci draw. He actually looks like he´s enjoying the whole game - like a boy, a kid playing with pals on the street. I haven´t seen something like that for a long, long time...

Erm... Clara´s blog is more like her blog writing about things (how can you create this or that..), about her style, about what she´s recently done and what she´s up to and such. I think every model needs such a thread, it would be so much easier to find a material for models we like she interacts with fans, make a competitions for them... it´s really kinda nice.

Yeah, it´s quite illogical, isn´t it. I mean, I love hats, there´s so many of them, and so wonderful, and girls (and boys ) can looks so cute and pretty in them! I´ve bought 3 hats/caps for fl, I just couldn´t decide which one is the best, lol. I myself have at least 4... one for work, one for woods, one for cottage and one for a certain

But ok, imagine the time some girls spend in front of the mirror, doing their hair, and then imagine them putting a cap on their "work of art" - jesus

I must clarify something with the Messi thing. I don't mean to minimize his talents, he really is remarkable. I just feel sorry for the goalies I guess . Although you countered that well Baron by saying its not about the scoring as much as how he weaves through the defense and even preferring the stops I can't help but appreciate that part of course . That's a great video too. I know a lot of people here hate the Madrid because of their defensive style while I like it on the other hand, but I can't help but respect someone who can just weave through it like that of course.

Great point too Jennks about how he looks like he's having fun. That's what any sport should be to me. That's another reason I actually enjoy the NBA lockouts because it was good to see the players actually played for free at charity and street games just because they didn't want to sit around. Loving the game is probably my favorite part of an athlete.

Oh yeah, Jennks those give me some pretty hard laughs too . I had saved them on my clip board under My Controls but its got so much stuff now its almost impossible to navigate though .

^Do you think this is a deliberate 'star-making' thing? I did notice how often they focussed on Manning and Brady even when they weren't on the field. Other players seemed to be actually winning the game, but they weren't being given anywhere near enough credit as things panned out.

Definitely . They have to be mentioned even if they're off the field like you said and even if other guys are winning the game. If a guy gets an interception, its about 'I can't believe he threw that in there' regardless of the fact that the guy read his eyes, ran over there at break neck speed and jumped three feet in the air to get it .

I forgot to mention that twice I heard the commentators saying that there were too many players on the field during the SuperBowl as well! How often does that oversight happen?

Its funny you mention that . Its a pretty rare one, so I found it pretty strange that the same team did it twice in the same game .

^And what's with that stipulation?!!

Nice lists though, I pretty much know where I stand on all of those arguments!

I figured you'd say that . I'll have to say in pm, though I did start to put yours on there. The thing with some of yours though is that I don't think some of them actually get your jokes which makes it more funny even if its not a mutual thing as a result .

I always miss out on so much of the good stuff

When I remember where I put them, I'll probably have to send you some of my saved deleted stuff sometime .

One of these days I'm going to try and understand NFL. I think I'd like it <_<

How often do you see guys get injured on the field Joe? Whether it be contact injuries or more incidental stuff like hamstrings..

I'm not going to lie, it has no shortage of rules . Aside from the pro quarterback rules, understanding of the rules increases appreciation though. I watch AFL as much as I can though I must admit my appreciation would likely be higher if I understood the rules more. For example to the casual NFL viewer, a 50 yard pass is a good pass and catch whereas knowing the rules it gets interresting as if you catch the ball, you have to touch both feet in bounds while maintaining full possession of the ball going out and if that's not enough, if the weight of your grown man body hitting the ground or being hit causes you to lose or even juggle the ball as you hit the ground out of bounds its all for naught . Unfortunately, injuries are a huge part of the game and happen often in the game. The contact injuries are the majority compared to hamstrings. I think the average career is only like 7 years as a result and that average is probably inflated by the kickers and punters. I must admit that the most annoying thing about talking with Europeans about the game is they often criticize the fact that they have pads not knowing how big and fast and elusive these guys are and that without pads and helmets there would definitely be several deaths a year and that 7 years would be cut down to probably 4 or less. This is likely why they only play 16 regular season games because otherwise so many key players would be injured, the playoffs wouldn't really represent the regular season team. Of course, I also find Americans saying soccer is monotonous and doesn't have enough scoring annoying too, so I guess I'm just annoyed on all sides . Players in the past were also big on coming back in with injuries, but they've gotten more stringent on the player's freedom to choose for saftey purposes. One of the most interresting examples is a player named Ronnie Lot in the 80s who was told he couldn't go back in because his finger was hanging off but could be saved, so he cut the finger off so he could go back in the game .

^I eagerly await that pm then! Yeah, I guess it's not much of a rivalry if the other person doesn't realise it!

I don't know really, personally I've always tried to get on with other members - but it would be naïve to think everybody liked me (and I know that isn't the case anyway ), and I've reached out to some members who've never bothered to respond. I'm a stickler for manners, I suppose, and the lack of them is probably what annoys me the most on here. There are plenty who have pissed me off otherwise too though...

Just saw this reaction to Gisele's current faux pas - and thought of our discussion:

Unsurprisingly, the defensive players that Gisele Bündchen insulted after the Patriots' Super Bowl loss — "You have to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball," she said, "My husband cannot fucking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time! I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times" — are not pleased with her remarks. "You can't point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season," said a guy who was apparently supposed to catch the fucking ball, referring apparently to another guy who was supposed to catch the fucking ball.

No doubt

I think the basics of AFL are pretty easy to understand, but there are still a lot of rules to come to terms with the whole of the game - and I think one of the troubles is that some of them are just way too objective and open to interpretation by the umpires, which can change dramatically from week to week. It can be a confusing and frustrating thing as a spectator.. probably moreso for a newcomer to the game though

I've heard similar comments over here regarding the helmets/padding thing, but you dimiss it as nonsense when you see how hard those guys actually barrel into each other. Kind of reminds me of that fact I heard about how boxers sustain significantly more injuries and fatalities these days than they did in the bare-knuckle days. I'd say the most common injury you see in AFL is probably hamstrings, followed by head clashes/concussion and ACL/PCL knee injuries. Leg breaks are sickening to watch too Do you see much animosity between players on the field? Do all-out brawls ever happen?

7 year career is pretty crazy though.. so most guys call it quits by their mid 20s? Or do they not start that young? Are 30+ guys unheard of?
