Happy Holidays, love!
Happy Christmas to you B and happy new year of course. Enjoy the holiday!!
^Thank you both! Sorry to hear that it wasn't as jolly for you as it ended up being for me. One more day (well, two I suppose) of festivities for me and then it's boring old January with the "real world" hassling me - and not so much cinnamon knocking about in my diet...
happy new year Baron
^There's always some of this to cheer me up though! Damn that's pinchable... :brows:

Well, Baron just remember not to spoil your desert , whatever that means .
^I don't know what that means either?! I presume this latest Averagism is referring to my 'dessert'?

As it was, being Christmas and all, there were lots of desserts. And then cheeses. And then chocolates. Repeat... :x

Another thing about the models and their threads is I must admit a part of me hates my fandom of my second tier favs becoming obsolete . For example, I was a fan of Candice before she became the craze, but now even though I don't necessarily like her looks or modeling less the fact that there's droves that think she's one of the most beautiful ever and has the best body makes made my own fandom obsolete I guess . Then on the other hand, when the fans are crazy, I stay away from the thread for fear that I could be judged as crazy too by association .
^Ah yes, guilt by association. I know what you mean. What with the rabid Candice fans, at one point saying you liked her was social leprosy. And it was almost like you had to prove it with constant inconsequential prattle on her thread if you weren't 'fastest-finger-first' on the latest VS pics...

You need to reconfigure and update your "Super-Fan" thread/directory, there's so many reposts and 'pap' dross in some of the more popular threads now that it's hard to know who to turn to for knowledge, info and wisdom!

I've never eaten ceviche..

I can eat stuff like this, but I'd never order it in a restaurant:

Anything more than that is in the 'danger zone'... :-D

..such as raw fish eggs, raw shrimp, & finding Nemo clown fish...

^ What an adorable tie-in!

I have no problem with sushi/sashimi. There's this Japanese TV chef in Bs.As who I kinda know through a mutual friend, and I go to his place quite regularly - though I guess I won't be taking Ophelia for a date there in a hurry...

I'd give ceviche a go. It's not really an Argentino thing (it's more likely Peruvian/Ecuadorian), but it's pretty popular. I like halibut marinated in pomelo juice.

yuck to all seafood! :x

I can understand that :=D

My ex was frightened to death of 'fish heads'. She'd try to cut them off, but she just couldn't do it. It was the eyes..the watery fish eyes.. that pushed a button in her.

Similarly, I don't like eyes of large animals that I see in the zoo. Or the eyes of a horse, for instance. Totally repulsive in my view ...:./

I love horses eyes don´t really understand how in any way can they seem repulsive to you

^Are we still talking eating them? I ate some sheep's eyes when I lived in the Middle East - but that was more for shits and giggles rather than any culinary value!

I've been reviewing Freja's early work 2005- ish and it seems that she was typecasted as a lesbian rather early on. Here and there in the beginning..until things turned full dyke.
^Well that's the curse of having the androgynous "look". Omahyra Mota's shoots always seemed to trade in that faux-lesbian stuff too. Every stylist appears to have seen Victor/Victoria and figured that's the only template to go with... The existence of Tasha Tilberg and Catherine McNeil should negate that hackneyed idea of what "they" look and act like!

It´s always good to know there´s another morning, followed by another day that can be better than the previous one. Sometimes it is not, but sometimes it is. And today I´m just so tired, lol. I´m sure there are better times to come

Candice still seems too young to me... I mean, psychically. Almost every girl I´ve seen in her age tries so hard on pictures - especially those who think they´re pretty and she is - pretty.

Magdalena is a different level. She has this seductive presence that is all around her not even talking about how wonderful she is.

I am probably the only BZer' here that really liked Freja.

I 'discovered' her, Maryna, and Anja Rubik on a Gap Storefront. She was their woman for a while- Gap billboards, Gap advertisements..:

She would easily be my #1 top model if she was marketed differently:

That's a strange one because I wouldn't in a million years write that on paper (though I would for the names ), but it happens typing a lot .

It seems Candice looks like something stinks whereas the other looks like she's 'I'm still a model' . I would have thought it would be natural to both since they've been doing it so long, but I guess for some its natural in general.

Maybe its cute girl facebook pose vs. model facebook pose .

I'll have to work on that. The list is meant to be from nominations mostly of course though that is true that the thread post count doesn't tell the whole story . My resolution for this thread at least is to get in the general flow of conversation and to post pics of women to ask if you like them, putting the fear of rejection aside .

I am probably the only BZer' here that really liked Freja.

I really rather like Freja but in a 'queen of cool' kind of way, as opposed to 'wow she's so hot'. Her smoky-eyed, rebellious spirit puts me in mind of a young Patti Smith.

I used to prefer silence and darkness at night too but I've a touch of tinnitus in my right ear these days (an unwanted souvenir from a gig a couple of years back) so I find it easier to sleep if there's a bit of background noise. When it's deathly quiet at night, the ringing can get a little irritating. But it's all about familiarity, I guess. As a kid, I'd occasionally stay with family who lived right on the coast. I would ask how they slept through the noise of the foghorn at night and they were all like "what foghorn?"

Lol yeah, I guess it´s just a matter of getting used to anything. Tinnitus in right ear? It´s like constant low noise? I´m actually deaf on my left ear since I was very little.

Does it affect your enjoyment of music or movies or anything like that? I was reading a bit of a sad story recently about a music fan in his 60s - he went deaf in one ear a couple of years ago and now hates the sound of the songs he used to love.

I can only really hear the ringing in mine when all else is completely quiet but it's kind of like a high-pitched electronic 'beep'. I'd be annoyed with Jason Pierce if I didn't love Spiritualized so much.

More new Big Pink for your perusal, Baron (song starts at 7:23)...
^Obliged. icon_salute3.gif

So, first time I saw them they were performing as just a duo - and now they've got this new drummer for Saturday. Missed my moment with Akiko then?

A future tour by Comanechi might be your best bet. Unless you could bring yourself to purchase a ticket for Akiko's other side project, Sperm Javelin?

Will you still be in the country for the rescheduled Big Pink gig, Baron?

^It's just that Magda can do no wrong!

I think she's simply a 'natural' model, in the way that the camera captures her face - same as Christy Turlington. She really does have 'cheekbones like geometry', and is as stunning looking imperious in Haute Couture as playful in PINK. Her candids are always just as awesome, like in Mr. Icon's picture.

Even at the height of my Candice adoration, I always found her expression somewhat lacking (no complaints about her body though!). Back then she still had that whole ingenue thing going for her - now it seems contrived "sexy". <_<

You've already got off to a fine start re: "general flow of conversation" then. But, with resolutions, it's how you'll be doing in mid-Feb that'll be the tester!

^I'm of a similar feeling Michael* - I've always thought she'd be good company, and that kind of 'back-of-the-tour-bus' sexy... She's got cute dimples when she smiles.

^Sperm Javelin doesn't sound that enticing, since you mention it! But I guess I'll look out for them.

Not sure about when I'm going home yet. Off to Spain first to see my father, then maybe Slovakia, Poland... I'm sure the ticket won't go to waste anyways, but it would be nice to see how they've progressed as a live act.

What gigs have you got coming up?

Hmmm, dunno really Michael. I don´t know how it is to hear with both your ears - I can´t even imagine how can it sound I´ve never experienced it so can´t really tell you if it´s affecting me in the like of music or movies. I know I have a "ear" for music, because since little child I was able to reproduce music on music instruments (especially keyboards) after hearing it. And I know a false tone when I hear one, even when it comes from me, lol but when I´m drunk.... I can´t hear myself being false, nor others

But... my taste in music really is changing as I´m growing up, but I have no idea if it´s due to my deaf ear or rather growing up itself when I was younger, I listened to almost everything (from Led Zeppelin to Britney Spears ) - now my taste tends to shift towards bluegrass, country, classic music and traditional music, folk music or instrumental ones. I enjoy good blues or chanson too... but I still have a heart for Disney songs and musicals

Candice can take really good pictures... when she´s not trying hard. I love her body too... oh my but Magda... as you said B, Magda can never do wrong - she is just as stunning in candids as in videos or editorials or on runway or backstage shoots. She has this captivating presence fierce and playfull at the same time... and those cheekbones, I could write poems about it!!

How do you feel about 'lookalikes' though ? I guess whether they even are is a case by case basis though. There was a Behati lookalike, but I forgot her name. Of course, they're at a disadvantage not having the uniqueness factor or appeal of the 'original' and on top of that, probably have to be extra good to overcome the annoyance of the comparissons and debates about whether they do or how much they do or which one is or isn't better .

*edit*
