I'm not actually sure if Sperm Javelin are still going, though I'm led to believe that new Comanechi material is imminent. I quite like them, and if the thought of a thrashy, shouty Japanese White Stripes appeals, you might like them too. The best bit of the vid is at 1:20 - Akiko briefly stops drumming to toss a pancake (not a euphemism).

In the past six weeks or so I've been to see Wire, Arctic Monkeys and The Vaccines but in terms of what's on the horizon, I don't have an awful lot lined up. I did manage to secure a ticket for Laura Marling at the Gateshead Sage, though the gig is still a good couple of months away.

Anyway, I only brought up Erin's nose to begin with because I was being customarily irreverent regarding the VSFS - as I am each year when I do my "review"! I'm not ordinarily that bothered by such things...
