That's a lot of nice pictures .

One thing I've noticed as I got into fashion is that there are some places I expected more from based on reputation. I hear people raving about Sweden for example, but it seems to me they probably have a higher percent of nice (or maybe their average is closer to nice than some) than a lot of places, but not necessarily a higher percent of great. In any case, I expected them to have more models that I liked I guess whereas I can't think of very many. I also expected to like more French and Italian models based on both their reputation and them being areas I assumed were easier to access the industry to persue a career, but it seems to me I've liked more models from places I know less about and have less well known people and are less well known to the rest of the world in general.

As for Daria, she's been modeling since 97' and I ran across a show where she just looked..'different'... It may be the lighting or makeup.

Oh dear, have I started a fire? :-D

But the whole trailer looks amazing indeed... and Marion as a Cat Woman? That would be something. Still, I have a feeling that Anne will surprise us

And Daria (as long as I know) never had a nose job She really doesn

I quite like them, and if the thought of a thrashy, shouty Japanese White Stripes appeals, you might like them too.
^What's not to like with that description?!! 973png.gif

We'll see about the new Big Pink album too next week...

Have you had the chance to check out the new Sherlock episodes?
^Oh yes, watched the first one - and have the second ready to go on the set-top box! Good to hear that post-Hobbit a third series is on the cards. Presuming, of course, Holmes "survives" a tumble off the Reichenbach Falls... investigator.gif

How about you, Princess? Also just read today about Tłusty Czwartek - do you indulge in that?

"Muppets" looks like such a fun movie, it opens here on the 20th, I'll probably go see it I think I'll also go see new Agnieszka Holland's movie, which is our candidate for the Academy Awards this year and it is said we have a serious chance to get the nomination. There are also other 2 Polish movies, but one of them premieres in spring and another one in autumn, I think.

To be honest, I am usually excited for the Oscars, but this year looks like George Clooney campaigns so hard... I don't know, I just can't think of any movie (which is rumoured to be nominated/awarded a lot) with Oscar buzz that I'd be excited about.... or at least I can't recall any.

of course I do!

^The thing about Sweden is that everybody there is "fit" - as in physically! I don't think they're any more beautiful as a nation, but it's true to say you don't see many overweight or gross Swedes; generally they're in good nick... As I'm sure I've said on the forum before, they're not that blond(e) either. Finns are, more so.

I have to say, as having any sort of national fetish goes, the allure of the French actress is a strong one. Model-wise, not so sure - I've always liked Morgane Dubled though. But the list of actresses goes on...

^Yes, and dressed as Audrey Hepburn! Can't see it. As we've said before, I'm sure Nolan knows what he's doing - but just in that short glimpse of her I'd have loved the divine Marion Cotillard to be prancing about in skin-tight leathers instead...

Marion Cotillard was so gorgeous in Inception (I saw it in the theater). Catwoman with a French accent? Sounds so appropriate!!

^I approve of this 'maximalism' tactic! That was always the one postive about VS - the idea that you use a group of models (note to VS - you're not really doing this anymore. Candice + an other does not constitute adequate division of labour amongst your "Angels" <_< ); so it's good to see other companies employ a similar style. Stick a group of models together and there's something for everyone. In this shot (for me): Lara.

^I don't really know about them. When and where I lived in Stockholm there were a lot of Finns around. I also met a lot of Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians. I guess the Norwegians stick to Norway (or maybe they hang out with the Danes?!).

I like Lara and Julia the most :-D I think Edita works with H&M as well.

H&M have also wrangled Marloes, Maryna, and my girl Nicole. Now there's a beach lineup

I do love Julie too though - she's such a natural beauty

Yeah, I did notice they seem very fit there, at least the average person compared to many places. As to the French, I don't know of any of their actresses I like either off the top of my head, but I haven't seen that many of their films anyway . Well, actually most of the Eastern movies I've seen in general have been Chinese or Japanese films for the most part.

^It sure is! Them and Edita? VS's loss...

As I've said before, favourite aside (and Rosie A.W.O.L), I'm not really that impressed with the "Angel" line-up.

^I think the French would balk somewhat at bieng described as "Eastern" cinema! Off the top of my head anyway I have a fondness for Emmanuelle Béart, Marion Cotillard, Audrey Tatou, Juliette Binoche, Virginie Ledoyen, Sophie Marceau... faint_X6CR9G.gif

As for films, you can't go wrong starting with the French 'New Wave' greats: François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. But, really, there's huge amount to tap into from there.

I never really liked that H&M campaign with 5 girls, Lara has the best body for bikini but I think Daria looked the best. Other-'meh', although I didn't like that particular campaign... entirely different thing with last year's Filippa Hamilton and Edita's ads, LOVE them

of course I do!

Layla, there used to be H&M billboards and screens that would play on loop- with Lara, Julia, Daria, and etc. prancing around on the beach....It was just..refreshing to see. Best ads ever :-p

oh, and I liked Carmen Kass for Michael Kors ads and billboards:D

And Daria (as long as I know) never had a nose job She really doesnt have a nose like that she has rather huge one, look:

<3 your photos and gifs.

No, no fire I just follow Daria for a really long time and never noticed such a thing as nose job - and I felt I have to speak up for her, at least sometimes... I´m not into these fires anymore

Glad you like the pics I know she´s not the kind of regular beauty with commerciall appeal... but I so do love her look and adventurous soul I feel close to her in means of spirit - she is an artist. She loves to draw, read books and travel in adventurous ways! She´s a tough girl indeed and a muse

Uhm except Daria's nose doesn't look that different, comparing her recent pics with that old fashion show photo? btw I think I just saw Daria in new ads for H&M!
^I can't say either way, as I've never really followed Daria's career. Sure enough, in Mr. Icon's first photo, it does look a bit 'bulbous' - but that could just as easily be lighting and angles.

Anyway, I only brought up Erin's nose to begin with because I was being customarily irreverent regarding the VSFS - as I am each year when I do my "review"! I'm not ordinarily that bothered by such things...

Lay, yeah, she is in new H&M ads I´m soo happy about it

B, it´s ok Dunno why I thought you could like Daria... she is such a free soul a little like Behati - only that Behati is more crazy and Daria seems to me like a more thorough woman... a philosopher maybe. But they have this wonderful spirit about them in common

I can understand the color coding habits that some posters have. But the 'Q' thing, and its frequency, is at a whole different level of conscious effort. It makes me curious as to...why?! And It's a 'why',,,with no leads or clues. :-p

Well, east is relative of course. Actually, I consider Japan to be to the west ironically . I did know those from the first list, though I need to look up those new wave ones .
