^Thank goodness for that! I thought I'd stumbled into an alternate reality there for a moment - where Joe never existed... But then I realised if that were the case then Jennka and donbot were there too, and the chances of that reality having three members of Bellazon falling into it was infinitesimally small!

Plus I saw your posts were still here too, Joe.

All in all it was a silly thought.

I thought of how Stalin would erase all documented evidence of his liquidated political enemies: "They never happened. Today is history!"

Ha, I wish I had an hour to idle around in the morning...! I usually get out of my residence as soon as possible.

BTW, Joe, I think She- Hulk is 6' 7'' as Baron says. Wonder Woman is 6' 3''. Most Super-women tend toward 5'10- 6'.

The below is one of my favorite satirical yet accurate essays (from a prominent US Marxist philosopher) about American 'neoliberal' culture and ideology among the Silicon valley and Wall Street Rich (Net Worth > $5 Million). It resonates well with me. Marxists are obnoxious as hell with their parochial/counterproductive obsession with redistribution and class warfare but here, he nails it in: American Neoliberals are mostly phoney progressives; They are, in fact, deeply economic reactionary/conservative in nature, in self-interest, and in policy making. They don't fully understand what it means to be truly progressive and humanist. They don't focus enough on progressive strategies and social structures. He highlights their class elitism, their ignorance of the social reality of capital flows, and their self-interest/vulgarity. But it's not all bad, of course- Their emotional needs are directed towards half-productive purposes.

So I believe your Sir Richard Branson of Virgin is a prime example.

In this manner, 'Conspicuous Charity' becomes a form of consumption and the price of status-seeking. And Hollywood, top models, rich idlers and phony liberal Celebrities are the PR personnel, and, to borrow a statement often attributed to Lenin: They are the movements' "Useful Idiots!"

Perhaps we could all meet up for tea?

Only if it's organic tea :morning:

^Bloody 'organic'!!! anger_smilie.gif

And organic beer

^Enough with the organic!!!

You and Miranda can go and hug some trees elsewhere...

no problem... I´m actually pretty good in hugging trees, although it seems it´s never caused by organic things but exactly the opposite I might be able to spoil her, mind you

How do you think you'd feel if Behati got a full sleeve tattoo? More or less attracted to her? Or indifferent?
^Indifferent, I guess. I have no problem with tattoos (Behati has one anyway, on the back of her neck), one of my ex-girlfriends had several - some of which were very prominent - and they were sexy. I'm OK with it. Never succumbed myself, principally because I could never decide what I wanted. Although I did have a pierced nose and eyebrow in the past.

How about you? Do you like/dislike them generally, or just not on models?

I find full sleeves incredibly sexy, in general.. although depends on the girl of course. I could totally see Behati with one :brows:

Bad tattoos are a big turn off though. Large/prominent ones can look great in the right design, and positioned to compliment the contours of the body. I suppose a bad eye for composition is a big a turn-off as the tattoo itself

I'm always taken aback by leg tattoos, and how anyone could ever think they're a good idea. I don't think I've ever seen one that doesn't look awful - have you? None worse than those stupid matching thigh designs you see around

You deserve a medal!
^I'm always up for medals. I miss Capt. Icey - he used to give me them all the time!
Really? How much have you received?

There´s always some excuse to diss. We have a saying here in Slovakia, that goes something like this - The one who wants to hit a dog, will find a stick to do it.

^What a wonderful saying! On a similar bent, I like: To a man with a hammer, every problem is a nail...

As for the medals thing, I think I got most of them for contributions to the Candice thread - you know, back before she became ubiquitous.

I say Baron, have you had the chance to check out 'Future This' yet? Unfortunately, my ears have yet to hear it - my beloved five-year-old MP3 player finally gave up the ghost last week and consequently, my listening habits have taken something of a hit.
^Five years? Is that the MP3 shelf-life? Apologies for missing this before, have you rectified this yet. There's always some cheap and dodgy market MP3s to tide you over! (Five day shelf-life.)

I like Future This - it's not a radical change of direction for that difficult second album, had the gig Thursday too. Crystal Visions was the highlight though, that and Velvet are goose-pimply!

^What's with that music (muzak)? Is it principally designed to make you want to hang up - way to fiddle those 'all calls answered within 10 minutes' figures..?

Plus you know whatever the call was for it won't have filtered down to the relevant department - and you'll have to call again next month when you realise it hasn't been rectified. Sorry!

^That cover is quite bad I think! I'm not a Kate Upton fan, but I don't find her ugly - yet they've managed to find an ugly shot of her to use though! Body doesn't look great either...

That said, I don't like Anne V. much either (although her and her dress were quite something at the Grammy's). All in all S.I. doesn't mean much to me - I don't think it has much of a caché overseas. If I was in charge however then it would clearly be Cintia Dicker on the cover each year and we'd be spared this annual manic speculation!

Olivier Malnuit recently drew up the liberal communist€™s ten commandments in the French magazine Technikart:
1. You shall give everything away free (free access, no copyright); just charge for the additional services, which will make you rich.

2. You shall change the world, not just sell things.

3. You shall be sharing, aware of social responsibility.

4. You shall be creative: focus on design, new technologies and science.

5. You shall tell all: have no secrets, endorse and practise the cult of transparency and the free flow of information; all humanity should collaborate and interact.

6. You shall not work: have no fixed 9 to 5 job, but engage in smart, dynamic, flexible communication.

7. You shall return to school: engage in permanent education.

8. You shall act as an enzyme: work not only for the market, but trigger new forms of social collaboration.

9. You shall die poor: return your wealth to those who need it, since you have more than you can ever spend.

10. You shall be the state: companies should be in partnership with the state.

^Love this manifesto. What do you reckon the chances of it catching on..?

This begs the question then. We will ever truly know what the VS Angels are like

I don't have any illusions whatever- I see them as hard driving women but with no outstanding secondary abilities. But, like groupies, they may have acquired the tastes of the characters that surround them. I can expect a woman like Alessandra to be arrogant and professional, and Adriana to be a bit 'Eccentric'....since they've been in the business so long and have been so worshiped .

^I guess we all end up believing our own press? It must be hard not to become an egomaniac when you are surrounded by 'yes-men' and fawned over so vociferously.

^Yeah, I'm no fan of those... I could easily see Behati with a sleeve, true - but I think it would probably take some sort of spider-web crap on her face for me to put off either way!

Best one I ever saw was one of those grunge band guys (can't remember which one - they did all tend to blend together) who had flies buzzing around a turd. It had a uniqueness and a comedy about it that I still think of it nearly 20 years later...

I guess I'll sound like a really mean/jealous girl right now but:

a) why are they always putting these tiny triangular bikini tops on their cover girls?? I mean, the answer is obvious but still :trout:

b) that Anne dress suddenly made Joanna Krupa and her dress for Top Model finale 2 (Polish edition obviously) look classy

And yeah, Anne's been in SI photoshoots for such a long time, but it was obvious Kate's gonna get the cover. If they really cared about how 'loyal' a model is, Caroline Trentini would have gotten at least 3 solo Vogue US covers by now....

I was talking to NL... but you're half from the UK so there...In recent news, Branson, Al Gore, a bunch of Super-rich, and celebrities went on a cruise to explore the effects of 'global warming'...

Our version of Richard Branson is probably Warren Buffet- Both own old-line diversified companies that don't innovate much or contribute much to humanity but they have been consistently successful at retaining customers and spitting out solid cash flow/profits through acquisitions.

Pirelli 2012 outdid them this year..

I flipped through every page of the SI issue today, and I think it's not very strong. SI is usually a superior 'bikini' magazine but in this case they went out of control with the photoshop work. Truth be told, I think the last issue I really liked was 2009 or so w/Bar and Brookyln on the cover.

I agree with the cover. Katie has spunk but as a bikini model I don't think she's up to it. She tends towards chubbiness.

My feelings about SI are the same as VS: Get new girls, take better pictures! Anna V. has always been my favorite SI blonde, and G. Morton's alright. Bar/Brookyln were good. Hilary was great. In older issues, Veronica Verakova and Petra Nemacova were great.

--------------

Why does it seem to be that Anne has no fans here save for me and Fashiondream?! :-(

People find her too boring?

------------

^I guess we all end up believing our own press? It must be hard not to become an egomaniac when you are surrounded by 'yes-men' and fawned over so vociferously.

It's odd, but I tend to think that the VS Angels have a certain degree of pressure on them. They endeavor to stay there as long as possible, and they know that if they don't perform...they're toast and might end up being just another model. VS is kind of a 'haven'. Just speculating, of course...

Alessandra..it might be her face but she has an 'aggressive' look to her. She's probably open to seizing opportunities and staying afloat. As for Adriana, doesn't she seem a little..just a little, Prima Donna? I've never heard her talk, but I base this on her facial expressions in the VS shows, her attire, her loyal fanbase, and her manner derived from the candids.. Just speculating, again..
